Why start another blog

The origin of Noobty: a personal blog built around sedimentation — written for my future self.

Everyone who blogs has had the "start yet another blog" moment. This time is different — this time I wrote down the rules first.

The primary reader is my future self

This blog chases no trends and sets no publishing cadence. Every piece of content answers to a single test: can I find it, open it, and understand it five years from now?

Which means it must satisfy three conditions:

  1. The tech must not rot — a fully static site; the output is HTML and CSS, dependent on no living runtime service;
  2. The files must be mine forever — content is Markdown, git is the only publishing path;
  3. Writing must be frictionless — written in Obsidian, published by git push. There isn't even a login screen.

From today on

The site is new, the rule is old: write it down, and let time compound.
